2018 Orange Wine Show:

We entered 6 wines in the 2018 Orange Wine Show and won 6 medals!  They were not all gold but that speaks volumes for our consistency and viticulture practices. We did not enter our Sparkles, Autumn Merlot, Late Harvest or Twin Series Shiraz. The most valued accolade was a bronze for our Autumn Shiraz which actually won the Red wine of the show back in 2012. We feel that our best practice viticulture and Simon Gilbert’s winemaking experience is producing consistent, high quality every vintage.

India:

Peter travelled to India with a delegation from NSW last last month to showcase NSW wine and food.  Renowned French educated Indian sommelier, Magandeep Singh presented our wines at two masterclasses in Delhi and Mumbai.  He was overwhelmed by the quality of our Jules and Reserve Chardonnay.  We were also invited to the Australian Consulate to showcase our wines with Australian Masterchef judge, Gary Mehigan hosting the night.  It was fine dining and wining at its absolute best.

Budburst:

Our MOO Club members would now be enjoying the Budburst selection and coming into summer, the Chestnut Garth Sauvignon Blanc will blossom after scoring a silver medal in this years wine show.  By the way, budburst is under way with recent rain changing our prospects.  Looking at the vineyard it is coming to life!

MOO Members only Special:

We are running out of our Stadium Series Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz as our stadium contracts have expired.  We will offer mixed or straight cases of these entry level wines only to the MOO Club for $100 per case.  Don’t expect super-premium but it is a very drinkable wine coming up to BBQ season.

Orange Wine Festival:

Our Spit Roast at Sunset on 13th October is fully booked and as it has been so popular, we have decided to team up again with Darren Tracey from The Sugar Mill to do it again during the FOOD week festival.  Stay tuned as we have limited spaces.

On Sunday, 14 October, we have live music by Robbie Mortimer from 1pm.  Feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy the sunshine.  The new playground is “hectic” and is proving a great place for families to visit and wine taste whilst the children are happily playing.   No BYO please.  Wines, beers and soft drinks are all available from the bar.

We look forward to your next visit to our Schoolhouse Cellar Door.
